He told a symposium highlighting global economic and trade prospects Thursday that the ROK's exports to China would plummet by 20 percent if US imports from China contracted by 10 percent, citing a domestic survey.
He said the country had seen 21 major floods this rainy season, more than in any of the previous 23 years. Average precipitation across the country since June had been 438 millimeters, 18 percent more than normal and the most since 1961.

He said the industry on a global basis is currently facing the most acute professional driver shortage in decades.
He said the recent violence by radical forces in Hong Kong, such as attacking the police, beating local residents holding different views, damaging public facilities and hampering traffic, have severely harmed public order and security, and infringed upon the basic rights of the Hong Kong people in personal security and free speech. However, the US House of Representatives and some politicians are turning a blind eye to these and even confounding right with wrong.
