It will continue to develop friendly cooperation with countries around the world on the basis of the five principles of peaceful coexistence, the president said.     The country will also continue to work with nations globally to strive to build a harmonious world with lasting peace and common prosperity, he said.     The business circles of Singapore voiced their belief that a stable and prosperous China would bring benefits to the region and the world as a whole.     They also expressed the willingness to continue to play an active role in advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and bilateral ties between Singapore and China.     Trade between China and Singapore reached 52.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2008, up 10.5 percent year-on-year.     Up until now, Singapore has made investments worth more than 40 billion U.S. dollar in China. It has become one of the top overseas investment destinations for Chinese companies.

CAIRO, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Friday, starting a two-day official visit to Egypt preceding a top-level review of action to build China-Africa cooperation.     Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef received Wen at the airport.     During his visit, Wen is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and hold talks with Nazef. He will also meet with Arab League chief Amr Mussa, and deliver a speech at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.     This is Wen's second official visit to Egypt. The first was in 2006, which marked the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomaticties between China and Egypt. TAIPEI, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland's 20 million yuan of donations to ethnic minorities in the typhoon-hit Taiwan have been "all given out", Kao Chin Su-mei, a representative of the ethnic minorities, said here Sunday.     Earlier in August, the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee announced it has raised 20 million yuan (about 95.4 million new Taiwan dollars) for the ethnic minorities in Taiwan after Typhoon Morakot hit the island.     The donation plan was announced when a delegation headed by Kao Chin Su-mei visited Beijing on August 19.     The donation has been distributed to more than 2,153 homeless ethnic minority families (30,000 new Taiwan dollars for each), more than 3,300 primary and junior high school ethnic minority students in hardest-hit areas (5,000 new Taiwan dollars for each), and nearly 14,00 senior high school and junior college ethnic minority students (10,000 new Taiwan dollars for each), according to Gao Chin Su-mei.     All the donation had been distributed to ethnic minority victims of the typhoon, she said.     Currently, about 500,000 people of ethnic minorities live in Taiwan, 80 percent of whom make a living by growing and processing agricultural products.
