BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- China saw a 32.9 percent growth year-on-year in fiscal revenue in the first two months of the year due to factors including rising tax revenue following continued economic recovery, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced Sunday.Fiscal revenue for January and February combined reached more than 1.36 trillion yuan (about 200.05 billion U.S. dollars), the MOF said in a statement posted on its website.Of the total, the central fiscal revenue topped 702.7 billion yuan, up 36 percent from the same period in 2009, while local governments raked in 657.61 billion yuan, up 29.7 percent.Fiscal revenue in January was 865.9 billion yuan, up 41.2 year on year and exceeding February's 494.5 billion yuan.The statement said the big difference in fiscal revenue between the past two months was resultant because a nationwide seven-day Spring Festival occurred in February, leading to fewer working days in the month.The MOF attributed the fast fiscal revenue growth to the continuing economic recovery in China which boosted tax revenue, and a low comparison base in the first two months last year, when revenue was down 11.4 percent due to the financial crisis.China's National Bureau of Statistics released figures last Thursday which showed in January and February, the country's industrial output grew 20.7 percent, and retail sales of consumer goods rose 17.9 percent, while the urban fixed assets investment leapt 26.6 percent, and import and export in general trade soared by 52.1 percent.

BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's large textile businesses took in 133.15 billion yuan (19.57 billion U.S. dollars) in profits in the first 11 months of last year, according to figures released by the China Textile Industry Association.The profits were up by 25.39 percent year on year, 36.40 percentage points more than that in the Jan.-Feb. period.The industry posted a total production value of 3.43 trillion yuan and 3.35 trillion yuan in sales value, each up by 9.71 percent and 9.82 percent as all major products saw production rise.The industry also witnessed a slow recovery in export. BEIJING, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the world's largest lender by market value, said Monday it extended 110 billion yuan (16.1 billion U.S. dollars) of new loans in January, less than the amount in the same period of 2009."The lending growth in January was stable and moderate, which has well satisfied the real economic demand," the bank said.The ICBC statistics showed lendings of the bank totaled 117.1 billion yuan in January 2009.The bank said it would focus on financing ongoing government projects and continue to extend more loans to small businesses, while strictly controlling loans to new projects and high energy-consuming and polluting industries.ICBC last Wednesday said its loan growth in early and mid-January was "a little fast" as many ongoing projects needed funds, but the lending pace had stabilized since, as a concentrated volume of existing loans had come due and some credit card debts had been repaid.It also announced it would maintain a "reasonable and balanced" lending rate in a move to ease mounting public concerns about possible credit cuts.To prevent economic overheating, the government last month announced it would restrict its overall credit growth to 7.5 trillion yuan in 2010, compared with last year's 9.59 trillion yuan.However, a report from Monday's Economic Information Daily said that as of Jan. 29, Chinese banks had already extended nearly 1.6 trillion yuan new loans this year.
