But he said it was a concern that by refusing to move out without adequate compensation, the couple could be accused of abusing their individual rights. "There is no absolute right," he said. Judge Li, whose court sent the notice, told the media on Thursday evening that the court would "follow lawful procedures to deal with the matter", but he refused to say when.

BEIJING -- For the first time in its history, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has mentioned the word "religion" in an amendment to its Constitution adopted on Sunday at the closing session of the 17th CPC National Congress.To incorporate into its Constitution the principles and policies the Party has formulated for guiding efforts to strengthen the work related to ethnic and religious affairs, among others, is conducive to their full implementation and getting better results in the Party's work in this area, said a resolution on the amendment to the Constitution.It said the insertion has been made in light of the new circumstances and tasks.The CPC is atheistic but allows freedom of religious beliefs. China is home to 100 million religious faithful, largely Buddhists, Taoists, Christians, Catholics and Islamites"The Party's secret in handling well China's religious issues lies in its principles and policies," said Ye Xiaowen, director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs. "Their insertion in the Party Constitution shows the Party is sincere, and capable, of its implementation of policies on the freedom of religious beliefs. LONDON, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The Center for Creative Business in London hosted on Thursday Creative Exchange with China, exploring the possibilities of business ventures between the two countries in the creative industry.     The conference, which is aimed to help creative businesses from both China and Britain to get to know each other before exploring the business potentials of the rising industry, has attracted some 200 creative entrepreneurs, creative business managers and executives, policy makers, practitioners academics and researchers.     In his keynote speech delivered at the conference, Michael Bichard, rector of the University of the Arts London, said within the next two years, Britain's creative industries sector is expected to overtake the financial sector as the country's most significant economy. At the same time, China will move ahead of Germany as the world's third largest economy.     "If we remain isolated, we would not be able to achieve our creative goals of building global brands. To make collaborations effective, it takes much deeper look into the respective industries instead of superficial ones," he said.     Bichard, who is also chair of Design Council UK, hopes that Design Council would cooperate with China not only academically, but across the business to develop tomorrow's creative industry.     However, Bichard noted that creative exchange is not just about money, it's about understanding. The Olympics is a strong link between Beijing and London. Bichard urged for enforcing the bond, saying "two countries together can achieve great things."     Professor Xiong Chengyu, director of National Research Centre of Cultural Industry at China's prestigious Tsinghua University, clarified the conceptual difference of cultural industry in China and creative industry in Britain.     "It has only been 5-6 years since we began to talk about the cultural industries in China. In the past in China, we regarded culture as a kind of spiritual course which is focused on social benefit rather than economic benefit. The Chinese government realized how important it is to the national economy and has already carried out a number of policies to help and promote development," he said.     Wang Yongzhang, director general of cultural industries at China's Ministry of Culture, elaborated on China's policy improvement on the cultural industry over the years to serve as a backgrounder to the audience.     Representatives from British and Chinese creative companies also shared information about their experience in China during panel sessions.     The afternoon session dwelled on three topics with participants discussing Investing in China, Investing in UK and Managing Creativity in China.     The one-day conference sponsored by the Center for Creative Business, University of the Arts London and London Business School, is part of China Now, a six-month celebration of Chinese cultural and history across Britain.

Viruses wreaked havoc on at least 1 million personal computers during the weeklong National Day holiday, according to Jiangmin Co, a leading Chinese antivirus company.The company's monitoring system detected that more than 118,000 computers crashed on October 6 alone."Viruses have been extremely active during the long vacation because more people chose to stay at home and surf the Internet, shopping online or playing online games," He Gongdao, an antivirus expert at Jiangmin, said on Monday."More than 24,000 types of viruses were detected during the week," he said.He said computer users should be more aware of viruses that could be passed on through movable disks.Another antivirus company, Kingsoft, alerted the online community to a new virus it dubbed the "ultimate killer to antivirus software".The virus, a kind of Trojan, is capable of hijacking all kinds of antivirus software when it successfully attacks a computer."It will also automatically search the keywords, including 'antivirus, Kingsoft and Kaspersky', and coercively close the programs, Li Tiejun, an antivirus software engineer of Kingsoft, said."The virus has been supported and spread by a group of people who have developed a systematic and standardized business operation to make profit," Li said. Virus controllers could detect the IP addresses of each computer, he added.The new virus, which affected about 40,000 computers a day, will remain a critical threat to many computer users even after the holiday, Li said.According to the latest survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Security, China has encountered a rising Internet security problem over the past three years, mainly triggered by a growing number of profit-driven computer virus writers, hackers and illegal traders.Some 65.7 percent of 15,000 companies polled had suffered Internet security problems from May last year to May this year, 11.7 percentage points higher than before.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has said he will face up to history to help improve Sino-Japanese relations. He made the remarks in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) which was broadcast yesterday ahead of Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Japan on Wednesday. Starting with a Chinese greeting Ni Men Hao (How are you), Abe said the China-Japan relationship is one of the most important of bilateral ties for his country; and hoped they could develop into a strategic relationship for mutual benefit. He said he is looking forward to Wen's visit in spring, a season "when the ice is melting and flowers are starting to blossom", and hopes to visit China this year. Abe paid an "ice-breaking" trip to China last October soon after taking office. He met President Hu Jintao and reached agreements that thawed relations chilled by former Japanese prime minister Junichiro Koizumi's repeated visits to the Yasukuni Shrine that honors top Japanese World War II war criminals. Abe said he firmly believes that the "ice" in relations will finally melt when more Chinese people get to know Japan's post-war road of development. He said he hopes Wen's trip, including the summit meeting, would produce substantive results in various fields such as energy, environmental protection and regional security. As Wen's visit also coincides with the 35th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations and the Year of Cultural and Sports Exchanges, Abe said he would like to use the opportunity to invite more Chinese people, especially the younger generation, to visit his country and enhance mutual understanding. Abe said China's development provides a big opportunity to not only Japan, but also Asia and the world at large, citing bilateral trade had hit a record eight years in succession. The volume of trade between the two countries has increased nearly 200 times from .1 billion in 1972, when Sino-Japanese ties were normalized, to 7.4 billion in 2006. "Such an achievement was unimaginable even 10 years ago," Abe said. In another development, a survey published yesterday said that most undergraduates in China and Japan regard the other country as an important nation and 37 percent of them are positive about future China-Japan relations. The survey, jointly conducted by the China's Outlook Weekly and mainstream Japanese newspaper The Daily Yomiuri, polled 1,020 Japanese and 987 Chinese college students in March. Though a majority of respondents are not satisfied with the current state of relations, 37 percent believe relations will "improve" or "greatly improve" in the future. More than 40 percent think the relations will "remain unchanged". More than two-thirds of the Japanese undergraduates chose China as Japan's most important partner for economic growth; whereas Chinese students ranked Japan in second place, following the United States. A majority of both Chinese and Japanese students believe China will become the most influential country in the world. More than half of the Japanese students deemed China would overtake Japan in the next 10 years in terms of GDP.

The Board of Airport Authority Hong Kong awarded a franchise to building a new cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited here Tuesday.     According to the contract, Cathay Pacific Services Limited, a subsidiary of the parent airways, will design, construct and operate the 10-hectare new cargo terminal during the non-exclusive,20-year franchise.     The new terminal and recently completed enhancements to the cargo apron, taxiways and aircraft stands will equip HKIA to meet future demand for cargo services and to maintain its position as the region's premier air cargo hub.     "The new cargo terminal will reinforce the competitiveness of HKIA as a regional and international air cargo hub." Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hui said, adding "it will provide additional choices for airlines, shippers and freight forwarders.     "I believe it will bring substantial economic benefits, in the form of new jobs and business opportunities, to Hong Kong," he said.     Scheduled to open in the second half of 2011, the new terminal will have an annual capacity of about 2.6 million tons and increase the airport's total general and express cargo handling capacity to 7.4 million tons per annum.     According to Cathay Pacific Services, construction of the new terminal will create over 400 jobs. When it starts operation, the facility will employ more than 1,700 people.     The decision to build a new cargo terminal was made after the Airport Authority held extensive consultations with Hong Kong's air cargo and logistics industry.     In December 2006, the Airport Authority called for pre- qualification proposals, which was followed by invitation for submission of business plans. The Airport Authority assessed the business plans and decided to award the franchise to Cathay Pacific Services as a result of an open and competitive tender process.     The Airport Authority also invited the Independent Commission Against Corruption as an independent advisor to oversee the process.     Driven by the rapid expansion of the Chinese mainland's economy and robust global trade, cargo throughput at HKIA rose 4.5 percent in 2007, to 3.74 million tons. The air cargo industry handled over1.9 trillion HK dollars (243.6 billion US dollars) worth of goods in 2007, accounting 35 percent of Hong Kong's total external trade.     HKIA has remained the world's busiest international cargo airport for the 11th consecutive year.
