Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has called for tangible measures in line with local conditions to translate into reality the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and to produce early and evident results.

Xi said during his speech on April 10 that China will carry out a number of important policies to open up further. The next day, Yi Gang, governor of the central bank, announced 12 opening-up policies, five of which will be implemented over the next few months.
Xi said that as the country is located within the extended area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the two nations should seize the opportunity brought by a memorandum of understanding on jointly building the Belt and Road, which was signed on Wednesday, to expand cooperation. He called on China and the Solomon Islands to further align their development strategies to help improve people's livelihoods in the Pacific island nation and its ability for independent, sustainable development.
Xi said that China and Egypt enjoy a long-running friendship and he hoped that the Egyptian people, under Sisi's leadership, would score more important achievements in exploring the country's development path.
Xi hoped the Chinese army would deepen exchanges with the participating armies to advance global military cooperation and further contribute to safeguarding world peace.
