Wang explained why CP chose Zhejiang to accommodate the project, "The province is an important part of China's Yangtze River Delta which enjoys advantages in its geographical position, cultural resources and business environment." Moreover, Wang said Zhejiang is a pioneer in China's reform and opening-up which can be pivotal for CP's attempts to innovate traditional agriculture.
Wang said the company hopes video games can be part of cultural exchanges, citing the great popularity of one of its games, which was inspired by the Kunqu opera "The Peony Pavilion."
Wang Zhiqin, vice-president of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, a government think tank, said: "In China, the 5G industry has always emphasized both standalone and non-standalone networks. At the very beginning, an array of domestic operators were even inclined to develop standalone networks. That's one of the reasons why the completion of 5G standalone standard is of profound significance to our nation."
Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, addressed the conference.
Wang said car ownership in the United States per 1,000 people is more than four times of that in China. The number in the European Union countries and Japan is more than triple of China.
Wang also said that since joining the WTO, China has kept improving the socialist market economy system, reduced import tariffs, significantly lowered non-tariff barriers and liberalized the right to trade.

Wang said the amendment agreement incorporated appeals and suggestions from services sectors in Hong Kong to make it easier for the special administrative region's enterprises and professionals to do business on the mainland.
Wang reiterated that recognizing the 1992 Consensus and that both sides of the Straits belong to one China is the political foundation for cross-Straits dialogue.
Wang also met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov on Thursday, and both sides agreed that all parties should implement UN Security Council resolutions related to the DPRK in a comprehensive and complete manner.
Wang Zhimin, director of LOCPG, said he hopes the open days will help the public know more about the work of mainland officials in Hong Kong.
